The Great Owlen War

4:00 AM, Owl Time

Chapter 1: A Change of Plan

The eagles and owls are at war and we're waiting for the others to arrive, which is going to take about three hours so I better get some sleep before the battle. 

My friends, Arrorow and Ponier (Arrow and Pointer in Owlen), are sleeping as well and some others are sleeping too but most of the soldiers are fooling around with their weapons. 

I started to go to sleep. It was nice, dreaming about how my family will be like after the war but suddenly, I was woken up by the sound of shouting. 

The eagles were attacking and I woke up just in the nick of time thanks to the sound of shouting. 

I quickly got my arrows and started to shoot the eagles but I got just a few. Better than nothing. 

The eagles were getting closer so we retreated back to the base where our archers shot the eagles but we fought some of them off too and soon the eagles retreated back to their base.

We were lucky that time because next time the eagles will be harder to crack since that surprise with no reinforcements.

Chapter 2: Battle Plan 

5:00 AM, Owl Time

After battle, we all have a shower and come to the war room to talk about the the battle and like always, General Moklk, Lieutenant Faling and the other officers are there before the rest of us are.

 "We were lucky that we beat the eagles but we need more people in positions on the battlefield" said the general in a firm, but strong voice. 

The general's real name is Reding, Owlen for Ready and Lieutenant Faling is Roslet, which is Owlen for Rose.

General Moklk started to call out names and soon me, Arrorow and Ponier were picked to be good positions. 

"But we need a battle plan" said Lieutenant Faling. 

"Ah, yes said General Moklk. We need a battle plan. Anybody got one?"

Nobody but Lieutenant Faling does. 

"We can split into four groups: one can go North, one East, one South and one West. If there's any trouble, we retreat back to base."

"I think that's what we'll go with" said General Moklk. 

Chapter 3: Capture the Flag

10:00 PM, Owl Time

Before we go into battle, we play Capture the Flag because it makes it feel like we're in war, surviving the battlefield but it's just practice for battle skills. 

People die in this game because we use real arrows and swords and this is why it's feels like the battlefield because people die.

When we play Capture the Flag, we split into four teams. Then to make the game not to last forever, we have one team verus another team but we only have one pair fight at once and when one team steals the other, the other pair goes and that's how it works. 

Here are the teams. 

1. Team Smash

2. Team Killing

3. Team Mash

4. Team Nightstars


The people on the the teams:

1. Team Smash: Binsh, Malk, Tebty, Kil, Higin, and Slk. 

2. Team Killing: Janam, Wert, Lifi, Cokl, Nijs, and Fami.

3. Team Mash: Lji, Mals, Ferl, Oels, Bik, Dert, and Nill.  

4. Team Nightstars: Me, Arrorow, Ponier, Hisi, Det, and Vert. 

And team verus team: 

1. Team Killing vs Team Mash

2. Team Smash vs Team Nightstars

General Moklk said we will have a final match. This means that one teams wins, they go to the other team that won and that's called a final match. 

Suddenly a bell rang and Team Killing and Team Mash went to their bases. Another bell rang and the two teams fought and in the end, Team Killing won but the reason they won was they have better players and better weapons.

Then it was our turn to fight. We went to our bases, got our weapons and we fought, hoping to win.

The six of us split into positions: I was center, Arrorrow was left, Ponier, right and the rest wanted to be defense because they like to smash the other team's people.

Us three charged into war Arrorrow with arrows, Ponier with a sword and me with a sword too. 

Then I went to Arrrorrow's side and fought with him while Ponier got the right and center. 

This is part of the plan. The plan was we all go in positions and then I go to Arrorrow's side and fight with him to the left defense because the left defense is strongest and we want to the get the flag there. When we break the left defense, Ponier goes with us and our whole team gets to hold the flag. 

Now we're at the left defense and then we break it but to our surprise, some of the team's men ambushes us but two of us roll quickly to dodge the attack. 

Suddenly we see the flag and we hold it up in the air and the bell rings to begin the final match. 

Team Killing is the best team in the planet and they'll kill us because of the good men and weapons but we have better strategy so it's 50-50 chance. 

We go to our base and Team Killing goes to their's and the bell rings to the match of our lives.

The three of us go to our positions and fight but Team Killing is serious about their men because their men are good.

I sense that their center is the way to beat them so I tell them and they follow me and we fight though their center. 

We three are almost to the flag when we finally get the last man out of center and we get the flag before anybody can stop us from the flag. 

I get the flag and I hold it up and then I pass it to Arrorrow and he passes to Ponier and he passes the flag to the rest of the team. 

I can say that this moment is the best I had in this war and this may also be the best moment in my life.

Chapter 4: A New Enemy on the Battlefield

4:00 AM, Owl Time

The next morning we go out of the base and go to war in groups (General Moklk changed the names to: Delta, Bravo and Busy Bee. I got to name the fourth group Nightstars). 

All the people in Nightstars were the same guys from yesterday because General Moklk wanted us to be together because of yesterday's win. 

Our group went North, Delta, East, Bravo, South and Busy Bee, West and right now we're going to fight the eagles. 

For the first twenty minutes, we saw nothing but thick fog. Arrorrow suggested that we should go back because the fog is getting thicker and we're finding nothing plus it's getting colder. 

"Are we Nightstars?" I said. 

"Yes" they answered weakly. 

"A Nightstar is brave, helps and fighting for peace. Let's go on."  

We went on walking for half an hour and then I told them they should have a break. We sat down and rested.

Suddenly, I saw a hawk and I told the others. We followed it and soon we got it and chained it up thanks to Arrorrow. 

We went back to base and showed the hawk to General Moklk and Lieutenant Faling. They looked closely and tried to get some information out of the hawk and they got lots. 

"Our next move is to attack Mitlk" said General Moklk.

"And thank you all for the hawk, he has really helped us" said Lieutenant Faling. "And here are is a badge for each of you."

Lieutenant Faling gave each of us a badge and we went off to our beds and slept off, me dreaming about my future family and the others, oh I don't know. Dreaming.

Chapter 5: Attack at Mitlk

5:00 AM Owl Time

Everybody is on their own airplane (because we'll be destroyed if we go on the ground and if we go high on our wings, we'll also be destroyed by the their cannons) waiting for General Moklk's and Lieutenant Faling signal.

Suddenly they gave us the signal and thirty airplanes rushed though me and we fired at houses and people but that didn't last long because the cannons were starting to fire at us. 

One plane down, two down but the pilots survived and shot at the ground and soon they got shot too.

The six of us were still alive and we went together to fight the enemy airplanes that were attacking everybody. 

We are near the cannons and already ten cannons were firing at all of us and with the enemy planes, more pilots are shot.

Suddenly I spotted a enemy plane and shot at it. At least that will help the other pilots around us. 

There are only ten more of us and General Moklk and Lieutenant Faling haven't called retreat yet, which is a surprise because General Moklk and Lieutenant Faling are good officers and a officer calls retreat when in trouble. 

There are fifteen enemy pilots left and ten cannons but first we need to find a way to destroy the cannons. 

I tried firing a grenade at them but their armour is too strong for my grenade but a grenade in its barrel? I do it and works!

The others see what I'm doing (there are only the six of us left) and do it and soon all the cannons are destroyed!

There are no more enemy planes left, thanks to the pilots that risked their lives and we all leave Mitlk to go back to the base.

Chapter 6: New Members

3:00 AM, Owl Time

Suddenly, I heard something. It was the reinforcements! They came because we six were the last soldiers in the base!

There were twenty soldiers and they were taking their supplies down to the supplies room. 

I noticed something about two soldiers: they were together but the others soldiers weren't. One was a girl and the other was a boy. 

Then something pops into my head: these two are married! That explains why they were always near each other. Ah. 

Suddenly Ponier taps at my shoulder and I turn around in surprise, seeing Ponier. 

"You should invite these two to join Nightstars" said Ponier, pointing at the couple. 

"Why?" I asked. 

"Because I sense something good about them and I think that we invite them to join Nightstars" answers Ponier. 

"OK" I say. 

"Thank you" said Ponier. 

"Anytime" I said. 

I see the two owls and I rush to them and as I run, I see a look of surprise made by his wife. 

"Hello" I say. 

"Hello" he says. 

"I was wondering if you guys would like to join Team Nightstars" I say. 

"What kind of group is it?" she asks.

"An army group" I answer. 

"How many people?" he asks. 

"Six, if you count me" I say. 

They think for a minute and then there's a answer. 

"OK, sure" he says. "We'll join."

"Thanks" I say. "See you later."

"You too" she says. 

"May I ask what are your names?" I ask. 

Mhalo and this is Jolen" Mhalo answers. 

"Thanks, and my name is Hapay"  I say. 

"See you later" I say. 

"See you later too" Mhalo says. 

"Bye" says Jolen.

"Bye" I say. 

Chapter 7: Monkeys

5:00 AM, Owl Time

Mhalo and Jolen came to the Nightstar meeting which was in the gym because no one was there and it's quiet. 

We introduced each of us to Mhalo and Jolen and then we practiced fighting but then we were sent to go to war. 

We went again in the same group but with Mhalo and Jolen and we walked into the battle but five minutes into the walk we heard shouts of help but when we were about to go to where the shouts we got jumped and I think this is what made people shout for help.

It was monkeys and they were screeching in our ears and we started to run along with others running away from the monkeys. 

But then all the people running were smiling. At first I didn't know what they were doing but then I knew what they were doing: They were running to base and when they're at base, we can trap because they're at the base. 

I smiled and they I told them what it was and then we were all smiling and the monkeys didn't notice. 

We were almost at the base and soon we arrived at the base and trapped all the monkeys in cages and put all of the cages in a cell in jail. 

All of the people that were running from the monkeys to the base (that was all the soldiers in the base) got a badge. That's another badge for my war suit.

Chapter 8: A Nightstar Hurt!

Two days later, we were back on the battlefield, seeing what we could though the cold thick fog which was nothing.

Then we took a break for ten minutes and after the break, we walked some more. 

For the first twenty minutes we was nothing but ten minutes later, we heard sounds of war and we rushed to where it was with our ears. 

Suddenly, somebody took a shot with an arrow at Arrorrow but we didn't know because of the fog and he fell to the ground!

Me and Ponier took the arrow out quickly and then his eyes opened up and we took him to the base as quick as we could. 

When we got to base, we went to Lieutenant Faling and we showed the wound on Arrorrow's butt and Lieutenant Faling to him to the hospital (there is a hospital at the base). 

Two hours later we got the answer. 

"The arrow damaged his butt but it's not serious. Nothing was broken. He just won't be able to walk to walk for a week so he'll be in bed." said Lieutenant Faling. 

"So he won't be able to go to war for a week" I said. 

"We won't be going into war for a week because me and General Moklk thought that we should give everybody a week off, that means family, go to the park, just relaxing" said Lieutenant Faling. 

And sooner or later, General Moklk announced that everybody gets a week off the war. We it was said, all the soldiers cheered and went to their families.

11:00 PM, Owl Time

Chapter 9: Families

I went to my owl tree and the first thing I saw was Stellan, my wife, with one egg, it looks like. 

"The others died but this egg is the best of them all" said Stellan. 

"I see. Is it a boy or girl?" I asked. 

"A boy" replied Stellan. 

"What is his name?" 

"Wing, after his grandfather who was a brave hero like you" answered Stellan. 

"Nice" I commented. 

"I haven't been able to see you in ages" said Stellan. 

"I haven't, too" I said.

"Because of the war" said Stellan. 

"Where are Arrorrow and Ponier?" I asked. 

"Over there" Stellan pointed to the hole that was about six feet above us. 

I flew to the hole and found Arrorrow and Ponier. 

"This is going to be my son soon" said Arrorrow. 

"What's his name?" Ponier asked. 

"Roy."

"What's your?" I asked Ponier. 

"Squirrely."

"And your?" Ponier asks.

"Wing" I say. 

"Someday, all three of our sons will play with each other" said Arrorrow. 

"Maybe" Ponier says. 

"I'm going back to my house" I say. 

"OK, bye" Ponier says. 

I go back to my home and see Stellan and talk with her about the war and how it's nice to be back here. 

"Why did you come back?" Stellan asks. 

"General Moklk and Lieutenant Faling said that everybody gets a week off the war" I say. 

"For no reason?" Stellan asks. 

"For no reason" I answer back. 

And for the rest of the week, we relax with each other.

3:00 AM, Owl Time

Chapter 10: Win and Die

The week is over and we have to go back to war to fight for peace. It's like school. When the last week of summer vacation is over, you go back to school, well it's like when your week is over. 

Arrorrow's better but it wasn't a big deal because owls fly so nothing special but he's better. 

The eight of us are at the owl tree where me and Stellan live and the other wives too. Stellan is watching me, seeing the soldier in me and my group too. 

All of the other soldiers were there too and the reason all of us are here is because a spy that worked for us told us that when he was spying, they said that they were going to attack the owl tree and destroy it because of the future soldiers and maybe Nightstars and he went away once he got all of that and knew he was there. 

Suddenly eagles came but didn't attack because they were too far away to aim at us and soon they attacked and we fought back. 

We split into the same groups. 

Team Nightstars was in action and soon we were fighting like usual and the other groups were okay but soon they were more and more of them and it was harder and harder for all of us.

We helped the other group but that wasn't much help at all and soon one group was down. 

But suddenly when Arrorrow was helping another group he was shot an arrow and soon the rest were down.

Suddenly General Moklk and Lieutenant Faling came and fought but then General Moklk was down but Lieutenant Faling was alive but suddenly he was shot but he had aromour so he was alive but the arrow went though and if he was not taken to a hospital, he could die. 

There were fifty eagles left (but no more were coming) and I fought all of them but when I hit the last eagle the eagle shot me as well but he got a white flag and said that they surrender. 

They all cheered but Stellan was too busy with me. I told her in my dying breath not to tell Wing that I was a Nightstar and that I died in battle and tell him that died from a human and Stellan agreed.

Epilogue 

Wing was born and Stellan told him that his dad was killed by a human with a gun. 

Lieutenant Faling is alive and later Stellan told him also not to tell the truth about his father and after the Great Owlen War, he was Roslet, his real name and in the Great War, he was with Wing and never told the truth about his father.  

  

      

     

     

    

   

   

      

  



       





   

      


      



   

Canada's Secret (the person, not the country)

Canada's Secret (the person not the country)

March 15, 1943

Chapter 1: Canada's Life

My name is Canada. I know, the name but I'm used to it. Well, I'm like Canada, the country and if you want to know who named me, it was my dad. 

My dad is from the United States and people think it's very odd that he named me Canada because he's from another country but the truth is that... Let me tell you my story.

January 14, 1928

My mom and dad lived in New York City had had heard about Canada and many other Americans were moving too. I should tell you that I wasn't born in New York. Mom and Dad soon reached the immigrant boat and went to Quebec. 

Then we went to Ottawa and suddenly Dad fell in love with the city and then I was born. He named me Canada and that's how I got my name. Later we moved to British Columbia and lived in Vancouver and that's my story.

Chapter 2: Important Papers 

March 16, 1943

We are in the office of Mr. Gordon's office and he and Canada's dad are talking some important papers. 

"In the past fifteen years, you have have showed great work and respect in this building and I am about to give you these papers" said Mr. Gordon. 

Canada's dad looked at the papers with a close eye and said that the papers cannot be given in him. 

"Why?" asked Mr. Gordon. 

"These papers are the papers that show that Canada is not a war country. If these papers are destroyed, that will show that Canada can be at war" said Canada's dad, Michael.

"But I trust you to keep them safe" said Mr. Gordon. 

"OK, I will" said Michael.

"Good man."

I overheard the whole thing because I was on the roof of the building and Mr. Gordon's office is on next to the roof.  I simply opened the hatch to Mr. Gordon's office on the roof 
and now I heard the whole thing. 

Chapter 3: Planing

Now I love stealing stuff. 

Like once I stole my brother's diary and I got to hear all about his feeling for his girlfriend but this is serious. Stealing papers from Dad is hard because he puts papers is his safe, in his nine digit password desk (he puts different codes on all his drawers and changes them every day but he also spends most of his time on his office. 

But this is not his office in the building but in the house so that means that my brother can yell at me if I get into his office and I already know why he yells. He yells because he wants Dad to come and put me at trouble. 

But today when Dad was putting the papers in his desk he set up a laser field and the lasers moved around that you would never get though the field. You could get a ladder and go over the lasers but the laser field is made to go to the ceiling so that wouldn't work and pulling the plug wouldn't work too because the plug is at the other side.

There is another plan: at night, Dad turns off the laser field at night because in the morning, Mom's going to walk into the field even though Dad told her before they were going to sleep, so I think that's my plan. 

But wait! I've got a good idea: My brother loves money. I will trail money to Dad's office and my brother will never find out what room it is because he's stupid. 

Then I will throw a wad of money at the laser field and my brother will catch the wad of money (my brother is a world class money catcher). Like I said "I will throw a wad of money at the laser field", well, when he catches the money the floor is going to be wet and he will slip and fall. 

The alarm will ring and Dad will come and blame it on my brother but when my brother finds out it's me when I run to the desk, I'll give him some more money to shut him up.

Chapter 4: In Thief Mode

The plan is set and now for me to go into thief mode. If I were a spy, I would steal the Mona Lisa but that's hard to steal, since it's watched all the time. 

Now every thing is set: 20 dollars, mop and sponge and 10 dollars extra money (you never know when something is wrong).

I forgot to tell you that the desk is not coded this time, you can open it.

6:00 PM

At 6:00 PM, the trap was set. The floor was wet, the money was placed and I was hiding behind the door. 

Suddenly my brother came down the hall, his nose pointed to the wooden floor like a dog and when I threw some of the money I had left at the laser field, he slipped and he went into the laser field! The alarm rang and I rushed to the desk, got the papers, gave the rest of the money to my brother and ran before Dad came into the room.

Chapter 5: Intruders

When I was about to enter my room, some people were blocking the way to my room and this was weird.

Then they chased and I went out of the building running for my life. Soon I lost them but I was lost. I didn't know where to go. I was lost. 

The thing is, I didn't know why these people were chasing me. In Mr. Gordon's office, I only heard a part of the talk: my dad given the papers but when Dad was about to talk, I had to go because I didn't have my coat and I was freezing, so I didn't know why they were chasing me. I didn't know, I'm telling you!

I started to walk and tried to find the way back but I never been out of Vancouver before. I knew where Mr. Gordon's building was , but it's a two minute walk to the building and other than that, I've never been out of Vancouver before except when I was in Ottawa. We traveled by plane and when we came to Vancouver, we never traveled again. 

Chapter 6: Brian

It was already 11:00 PM, and I was walking though a row of apartments when suddenly I heard people talking loudly with bottles of vodka. I hate people who drink at night. 

Once night when I was five years old, I heard people with scotch and they were so drunk that they went up an elevator and smashed our door and went inside. Luckily, Mom and Dad were around because I screamed and Mom came and smacked them with Dad's baseball bat and Dad held me and started calming down. 

Now there was three guys and one was so drunk that he smashed his bottle and started laughing. Then a person my age told them to go away but instead they got bombs and threw them at the  apartment and people screamed.

The police came but we had already ran away. 

The guy who told the people to go away was named Brian and I said I was Canada. He didn't laugh about my name which is surprising because most people laugh at my name. 

He was surprised that I didn't laugh at his name too because people always laugh at his name too, so that's one thing we have in common. 

Chapter 7: On the News

Me and Brian saw the news in an electronic store and the topic on the "Vancouverer" , this TV show, was the wreck on Brian's home. 

"Live on the Vancouverer, we have the wreck of this building on Lane St." said the lady who's talking. They do a close up of the building. 

"What destroyed the building, Chip?" the lady asks. 

"We think that the building was destroyed by grenades" Chip answers. 

We get out of the store before Brian cries and I wouldn't blame him: that TV show could destroy peoples' lives. 

We walk for a bit and then Brian sits down while I steal some breakfast. The only thing I  could get was a loaf of french bread but it's enough for the two of us. 

Chapter 8: Knowing More

After breakfast we walk some more, the sun shining on us, the gentle wind in the air, everything calm and nothing bad around. 

I forgot that I have the papers rolled up in my sweater and I don't tell Brian. I shouldn't ruin Brian's mood with me telling about the papers. Right now, he's happy and let's not do anything to break it.

After the walk, we eat lunch (what I stole from Starbucks) , and I go and talk to him about him so I know more about him. He starts to talk and he doesn't ask anything: he just talks. 

"I was born in Abbotsford" said Brian. "I moved to Vancouver when I was four and we loved it here and never moved again."

Well so much for that but that may be useful at some point. I wish I got some more useful information from Brian but we shouldn't toy with other peoples' heads. 

Chapter 9: Another Chase

It's night now and we better get to sleep: sleeping in our sweaters but Brian doesn't have a sweater because of... So he gets inside a teenager-sided backpack I stole and pokes a big hole in the bag so he could survive and gets his head in the hole and that's how he sleeps. It's amazing. 

The next morning I steal some breakfast and we sit down. Brian doesn't talk much but time to time, he will talk. 

It already 11:30, so I steal some lunch. It's like thing all day long but it's nice to be with Brian because it feels like you're seeing something new. For my whole life, I've only seen the same thing but with Brian, it's different. It's a whole new world for my thinking but to others, they don't care: they let time pass but I make time last to the fullest.

We eat our lunch quietly. I sense something's wrong. Somebody's watching us!

I tell Brian we should go. Brian finished his lunch quickly (because he had one bite of his sandwich left). 

I was half right: people were watching us but I thought it was one person. These people were the same guys that chased me!

We run for lives! They chase us rapidly but I run and tell Brian where to go as though I know Vancouver like the back of my hand. 

We lost them in Pandora's, a diamond store. We were in the store for three seconds but we got booted out of the store because we were loitering. 

Luckily, the guys left and for now we're safe and I think Brian wants the whole truth about the guys chasing us. 

Chapter 10: Canada's Secret is Revealed!

When we walk, Brian asks why these men were chasing us. I don't said anything at first but then I tell him the whole thing. 

First I showed him the papers. He reads them and has a look of surprise on his face. I tell him I don't know why he has a look of surprise on his face. 

"These papers are from the Canadian Government!" shouts Brian. "The papers prove that Canada doesn't want to at war!"

"I didn't know that, I swear!" I beg. 

"Where did you find these?" Brian demanded. 

"In my dad's office at my house!" I scream. 

"How did you know about these papers?" Brain commands. 

Before I can answer, I shove Brian to the ground, take the papers and run away from Brian. 

Suddenly, I stop running. I now live in a guilty conscience when I have these papers but instead of destroying the papers, I find Brian. 

Suddenly, somebody grabs me. It's the same guys that chased us! The guy gets the papers from me and tells the others to go. I know who they are.  

Chapter 11: Teaming Up

A few minutes later, Brian found me and I told him the whole story. Me and Brian thought about what we can do when suddenly I had an idea: There was a number on the guy who caught my jacket. It was F-1174. F-1174 is a place that going Vancouver to Quebec City and he's going to have to another place taking him to where he was before. 

That fight is at 5:00 and it's already 2:45. We have an two hours and fifteen minutes to get to the airport and return the papers to Dad. 

Suddenly, a bus came to a bus pass near us and we rushed to the bus as fast as we could but one problem: we had no money. 

When we reached the bus, I said that we had no money but Brian got a card out of his hair and gave to the bus driver. Brian added in that I was to go to.

The bus driver let us in and we drove along in the bus. 

I sat beside an old man who was 70 but I didn't mind. Brian had to sit beside a woman who was 30 and she would never stop talking. That annoyed Brian so I said to the bus driver that Brian was autistic and the bus driver told Brian to move to my seat and me to Brian's.  

It was 3:45 when we arrived to the airport and we first came to the computers where the  flights were. Flight 1174 was at Gate 68. 

Gate 68 was near the souvenir shop which was at the end of the airport. At the end, it's always busy and with people talking with their friends or screaming children running and their parents chasing them. 

It took us fifteen minutes to get to Gate 68 with these problems but the most important thing is that we reached Gate 68!

Suddenly, I was crushed down by one of bad men but thanks to Brian, he punched him off and the people watching gasped. 

Another man tried to punch Brian but he ducked and I punched him to return the favor. Brian thanked me. 

I was scanning the scene for the papers and I suddenly found them. It was the guy who stole the papers from me and right now he was going to me!

I dodged him and punched him in the face. He went down and I got the papers! 

I told Brian and we went out of the airport as fast as we could and I told him where I live and he told me where to go. 

It was 5:00 when we reached my apartment. I thanked him for all the help he did and thanked me for saving him at his mom's home. 

Then we did the weirdest thing I had done before and for Brian too: we kissed and nobody saw!

I went back to my apartment room and I gave Dad the papers. He hugged me because I found the papers and because I was home. 

Chapter 11: Friends

Brian is now at my school! 

He told me that he got nice foster parents and he lives beside in the building next door so we can see each other. 

We go in the same classes and I had that there is a rumor about me and Brian falling in love but I told Brian to forget the rumors. 

After school, we hang out with each other at Stanley Park and play with each other and sometimes we help each other with homework.

Nightstars 5: Raphael's First Adventure

Chapter 1: Raphael

My name's Raphael. I know my name is after a famous Italian painter and everybody makes fun of my name so I'm always alone. But what's interesting is that my father, Wing, he was always alone too, so we have something in common. 

Me and Wing are lot different: like that Wing was in the Great War, an owl war that was very dangerous and was one of the worst wars in owl history and he survived! Now on the other wing (or hand), I'm a world class wimp. 

Suddenly, I saw Zeus and his group of friends. Zeus is a bully and he and his friends always pick on me. 

"Hey, loser!" said Zeus, all tough.

"Hi Zeus" I say. 

Then they start getting ready to punch me. That's when things get annoying but it doesn't bother me since I get punched everyday. 

Then an acorn hit Zeus. He thought it was me but I said it wasn't. Another acorn hits him. He blames it on me. 

Suddenly, a wave of acorns hits him and his gang of friends and they leave away from the grasses.

But I didn't know who saved me from him and his friends but suddenly a figure popped out from behind a bush and I saw that was Lovate. "Lovate" means love in Owlen. Lovate was the person who saved me. Now it all makes sense. 

Lovate is my girlfriend but she doesn't know that but sadly for me, she is Zeus's girlfriend and that's sucks. 

Suddenly, I saw two figures on the grass. I went towards them but all I got was a bag and then I knew who that were: Dresfer and Rolaf!

I hate those guys. Dad told me about them. They were hawks that were very dangerous and Dad had to deal with them lots in the Great War. 

I tried to call for help but was gagged and so was Lovate. They didn't want witnesses. 

Chapter 2: Wing Finds Out and Tries to Find Him

"Raphael, Raphael!" I call out. "Raphael!"

I go to the grasses where he always is but he's not there! This is weird and if I don't find Raphael soon, I'm going to Hazel. 

The other family is looking for Lovate too and they can't find her. Now this is weird. Two are missing and one is my boy! I'm going to find him!

I travel though the grasses and go up north. The sun is setting so I didn't have much time to look for him and after the sun set, I went to sleep. 

The next morning I woke up and started to search for Raphael but no luck. 

Soon I was in the hot sun still looking for Raphael but I had a break to rest and eat lunch. 

Then I went again to look and then ate dinner. After I went to sleep but I could not sleep so I went back to looking for Raphael but soon I got sleepy and I slowly went to sleep. 

Chapter 3: Raphael and Lovate Try to Escape

I'm still in the bag, trying to escape but the material is very hard and my beak can't break the material. 

Lovate is trying to escape too but no luck too. It looks like we're going to be stuck in here for a long time.  

Dresfer and Rloaf may be stupid at time like when when they were once talking about football and the NHL scores but they are pretty smart as well. 

Suddenly when I pulled really on the strange material there was a hole! I knew you could break the material. 

I told Lovate and her eyes looked like her eyeballs were about to pop out but no time to wast because soon Dresfer and Rloaf will find out what happened. 

Like I said, "Dresfer and Rloaf will find out what happened" , well that's what happened so we got caught again and Dresfer put us in the bag again and to fix the hole, he tied the material again and not only that, but he made the bag even tighter than before and there was a whole lot of space now. 

Chapter 4: Wing Catches up

I was trying and trying to catch up when I was traveling for hours at night. I was trying to fight the beast inside me and the beast is telling me to go to sleep but I'm telling it I need to stay awake because of Raphael. I would love to sleep right now but Raphael is missing and I need to find him and let go of the beast inside me, telling me what to do. 

I stay awake for a few me hours but then I suddenly fall dead because of the sleep. I'm still alive but I need to sleep. 

6 hours later

 I find myself lying here, thinking "why the heck I'm lying here but I suddenly know why I was here: I fell asleep. 

I started to look for him trying to catch up to the time I missed, going as fast as I could but soon I needed a rest. That was my little boost of catching up. 

I walked slow for a little bit, forgetting what I was here for so I went a bit faster flying steadily keeping the beat. 

Later I rested and ate dinner, talking to myself but suddenly I felt something pierce my heart: I was missing my friends but like my mother said "Even the littlest things can hurt a hero." 

And she's right. That's true, very much true. My mother was always very smart with poems. 

After dinner, I was ready for bed and soon I drifted off to sleep and after all, tomorrow's going to be a long day and that means that my batteries are going to need to charge for another long day. 

Chapter 5: Escape

We went bouncing in that bag for another day with only two snails (thanks to Dresfer and Rolaf), and it's going to be a long time till we finally escape again but then again, let's not keep our hopes up too high. 

I was trying to find ways to escape when suddenly I got an idea: I would ask Dresfer and Rolaf for two snails and with the snails I would make them eat the material and we'd be free!

So I asked Dresfer and Rolaf if I could have some snails and he said yes. I got the snails and got them to eat the material. At first they didn't eat it but then they took another look and they ate it. 

They made a hole enough for the two of us to go though. We went though the hole and quietly flew and when they noticed we escaped, we had already hid behind a tree so they wouldn't find us.

"How could we lose them?!" shouted Dresfer. 

"Hole in the bag" answered Rolaf. 

"OK, now things make sense" said Dresfer. "There was a hole in the bag and before we could look in the bag, they hid because if they flew, we would have seen them because they're not so fast. " "So that means that they're still around!" 

I wanted to get out from behind the tree but sadly that would show me and Lovate and we would be chased and Dresfer and Rolaf are ten times faster than us. 

When Dresfer and Rolaf were getting closer to us, Lovate told me we had to move and we quickly and quietly moved along.

When we were far, far away from Dresfer and Rolaf, we flew away from them as fast an we could. 

Chapter 6: Traveling

Now we were officially lost but I thought that we should travel south and that took care of our problem, but before we could travel, we needed fuel: food. 

I started to look for some food in the forest. I know I don't have hunting skills but maybe I could catch something and I did: some small mice. 

When I came back from the forest, I told her that I caught some mice. We ate them gladly and we also saved some for food rations. 

Now we traveled for a little while and soon we went to sleep and soon we would for another long day.

The next morning we woke up and ate breakfast. Then we walked for a bit and soon we ate lunch. After lunch we traveled some more and had dinner and went to bed. 

In the afternoon, at 3:15

Suddenly I saw a figure coming towards us. I turned to fly but then I really saw who it was: Dad!

We came to greet him and I hugged him. He told us that he came because he saw that we were missing and now he's going to take us home. 

We traveled for some time and then we ate dinner, talked for a bit and went to bed. 

The next morning we ate breakfast and flew for a bit and ate lunch. Then we flew again and suddenly I saw something: Dresfer and Rloaf!

Dresfer flew to the ground and so did Dad. 

"So you came, Wing" said Dresfer "My old enemy."

"Dresfer, I see you brought Rolaf" said Dad. 

"Yes, Wing" said Dresfer. "I wanted to kill you when I had the chance but I never got it because the other hawks." "The other hawks made you move around lots in Canada and it's was hard to know where you were because I had to kill Hazel has well, but enough chatter, let's fight."

Chapter 7: Fortunes Change  

The three soared into the sky and the first to attack was Dresfer but Dad blocked the attack. Dad slashed Dresfer but Dresfer smashed Dad and he went tumbling down but Dad accelerated just when he was about to hit the ground. 

Dresfer quickly smashed him again but Dad slashed Dresfer but before Dad could notice, Dresfer stabbed him in the chest!

Dad fell down but he had a knife as well and he threw it at Dresfer, but he dodged it and it landed on Rloaf. 

He fell down and he died as well.

"Dad!" I shouted "Dad!"

But he didn't answer. 

"Dad!" I sobbed "Dad!" 

He still didn't answer so now he was really dead but though all the sobbing, me and Lovate didn't notice that Dresfer had went away. 

We traveled back home and we finally reached it. I told Mom about Dad and she sobbed very hard as well but she told me about Dad and how his dad and his mom died too so that two common owls.

Chapter 8: All is At Peace

Now thing's are better than ever. I'm popular and have lots of friends. Zeus and his friends don't bully me and all is good. 

Lovate said that she likes me and we spend our free time playing with each other. We enjoy playing games and flying but most of all, she likes sitting in the grasses and talking about lots of things. 

I think in heaven, Dad says to himself that all is at peace. All is all peace.
